About Female Futsal League

Female Futsal League (FFL) is an independent organisation providing females from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds a chance to partake in the game of futsal.  Founded by Afifa Saad, FFL aims to expand the sport to females by providing an exclusive all-female environment to help females develop their futsal skills.

FFL caters to females from the ages of 5 and above with varying skills as they strive to develop a professional environment that allows females to improve their skills and performance.

As a female-based league, it is strictly restricted to female participants, facilitators, and spectators; with the exception of males under the age of 7.  FFL’s vision is to increase female participation in the game of futsal by providing them the freedom to play and pursue this avenue that does not conflict with their cultural or religious beliefs.

Shared Values with NZF

NZF’s vision is for Islam to flourish in society as a source of prosperity and harmony for all. To be able to achieve this, we need our community to be one that is confident, self-sustainable and pious.

The establishment of the Female Futsal League and Afifa Futsal Academy arose from the desire to work with females to build their self-esteem, resilience, and love for the game of futsal. In recognition of the cultural and religious restrictions that are placed on females, the league and academy are devoted to creating an environment where females are free to engage in this sport in a safe, private and in an all-female environment.

FFL hosts an annual futsal tournament every Ramadan with a portion of funds raised going towards our various programs like our Crisis accommodation, Brighter futures, Rising stars and Silver lining; that help the homeless, orphans, youth and single parents who live amongst us in Australia.
