Why the Caring Connections program?

‘And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.’ Surah Baqarah, verse 155

Our Muslim community in Australia have seen many of us, or our family members, be diagnosed with a serious or critical illness. Some of our brothers and sisters recover after a major operation or procedure, while others are unfortunately left to silently bear the pain alone without any family or visitors to comfort and support them.

The journey from being diagnosed to recovering from a medical condition comes with a number of struggles and hardships for the individuals and their families. Over the years, our team at NZF has helped brothers and sisters who have gone through this taxing journey by providing them support emotionally and financially to help them cope during challenging times. However, we want to extend our services to help our brothers and sisters recover more holistically.

Through this program, we at NZF hope to collectively work with our partnerships to raise awareness and address the needs in this issue. We hope to provide appropriate support services and resources to help our brothers and sisters to thrive, live fulfilling lives and insha Allah recover from their conditions.

Who is this program for?

The Caring Connections programs is designed to assist and support Muslims who are ill, are caring for a family member who is recovering from an illness, and families who have lost a loved one. We hope to help them reconnect with themselves, their loved ones and have a good quality of life with the help of the Muslim community in Australia.

Along with access to suitable resources and services, NZF will be working with multiple partners to arrange home or hospital visits for Muslims where appropriate. Our services will also include access to counselling sessions for individuals and/or families with Imams, specialised counsellors, hospital chaplains and others, as per request. In addition, NZF aims to support them when they may suddenly find themselves in difficult financial situations due to costs of medicine or other essential needs.

Eligibility & Application process

The application and validation process is done by the NZF Team with confidentiality. Any information given will only be used to determine the best way we can help you.
