Facing Eviction

February 1, 2024

Naeem, who is on a bridging visa, has been filled with worry and responsibility ever since his wife unexpectedly fell ill nine months ago, leaving him to tend to their three young children while she remained hospitalised. With no family nearby and lacking childcare support, Naeem faced an impossible choice: leave his job to care for his children or risk their well-being.

As the months passed, the weight of unpaid rent accumulated, with impending eviction looming over their already burdened lives. Despite turning to friends for support, Naeem found himself increasingly isolated and desperate. An upcoming court hearing only intensified his anxiety, threatening eviction from their home.

Naeem applied online to us at NZF for Zakat assistance. After assessment, we found Naeem to be eligible for Zakat. Your Zakat assisted Naeem in settling his rental arrears, securing a roof over his family's heads, and providing an allowance for necessities like bills and groceries until his wife heals and their circumstances improve.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance and unsure about Zakat eligibility, please reach out to us at NZF.
