Support in Hard Times

February 26, 2024

Naz and her husband, Suleiman, recently obtained permanent residency after years of uncertainty. However, just before they could celebrate, Suleiman suffered a stroke and faced several other medical issues. With their adult children living interstate, Naz didn't have support whilst travelling between home and the hospital, caring for her husband and managing her own specialist appointments at the same time.

Naz needed to borrow money from friends to keep up with living costs. However, as the days passed, they fell behind on rent, utilities, and medical bills. It was becoming unmanageable and they needed help.

Naz applied for Zakat assistance online with NZF. After assessment we ensured her that all their needs would be met, your Zakat lifted the financial burden off this elderly couple who were enduring their hardships alone, offering them much-needed relief during these challenging times. This highlights the transformative power of local Zakat in action establishing stability for our elderly Muslims.

If you or someone you know requires assistance and you're not sure of Zakat eligibility, please reach out to us at NZF.
