Struggling to Stay Afloat

October 26, 2025

After years in a toxic and emotionally harmful marriage, Haniya made the brave decision to separate from her husband. With three young children and no family nearby, she faced the daunting task of starting over alone. Her ex-husband is now imprisoned, leaving her without any child support.

Haniya relies solely on government assistance, including single parenting and family tax benefits. But as the cost of living continues to rise, she often struggles to cover basic needs like food and household bills.

The emotional toll of separation and the demands of solo parenting have made it difficult for Haniya to work. Still, with her qualifications, she remains hopeful about finding stable employment once her situation improves.

Haniya learned about NZF through word of mouth and applied online. After assessment, we found her to be Zakat-eligible under the 'needy' category. Through your Zakat, NZF was able to provide emergency financial assistance, helping her meet her essential needs.

Thanks to your generosity, Zakat has given Haniya the ability to rebuild her life with dignity, resilience, and hope.
