As we continue to reflect on 10 years of operation in Australia, we are delighted to announce a new, strategic partnership with the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC): a partnership that aims to further support and empower our community through the power of Islam’s third great pillar.

The Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) is the principal national body for Imams across every state and territory within Australia. As the collective voice for Australia’s Islamic community and organisations, ANIC ensures that the rights and interests of the Muslim community are adequately represented and preserved in Australia. 

ANIC works to engage with government and other bodies to promote understanding and harmony between the Muslim community and broader Australian society. 

As a new principal partner, NZF will become ANIC’s supported and recommended avenue of Zakat-giving for Muslims in Australia. ANIC will actively highlight to the Muslim community the opportunity for Muslims in Australia to give their Zakat right here in Australia, in the process helping alleviate some of our community’s most acute issues and build a resilient, self-sustaining community. 

It is hoped that this new partnership will make it easier for a larger number of Muslims in Australia to donate their Zakat, Zakat Al-Fitr and Qurban to those in need, right here in our local community. 

ANIC will support NZF in providing Islamic guidance and fatawa (rulings) on fiqh matters in relation to Zakat.

This strategic relationship has been initiated to better serve and advocate for the rights and needs of Australian Muslim families and communities, and power a more confident and self-sufficient future for Muslims in Australia. It will allow us to reach and help more members of our Muslim community than ever before, allowing local Zakat to have a transformative impact on even more families and individuals in Australia.
